Jamie LeemingDigital Campaign Assistant at Capitol Records UK
Music Management with Artist Development 2013
Throughout my time at University, I had a series of varied internships, ranging from improving search functionality for a karaoke company, to rewriting and improving minor functionality across the Domino Publishing website. In my third year of University I secured an internship with Sennheiser as Marketing Executive, which lead on to a full-time job once University had come to an end. By the time graduation came round in September I had managed to secure a position as eCRM Executive within the central division at Universal Music UK. After 6-months of developing as an eCRM Executive I felt that my passion for the digital sector would be better suited to a digital marketing role and so made an internal move over to Capitol Records UK where I am currently employed as a Digital Marketeer.
The main reason I chose to study at Bucks was because of the calibre of the lecturers. I was very interested to know that they were all either still actively working in the music industry, or had been in it for many years. The crossover between theoretical knowledge and their own individual experience made each lecture invaluable. Throughout my time at Bucks, I developed both a key understanding of how the music business works and also a strong network of influential figures throughout the industry. During my second year of studying at Bucks I got the opportunity to study abroad at the University of Miami. This helped me to get a greater understanding of the industry from a US perspective and also make some connections state-side. A trip I would encourage every single Bucks student to take.
